Managing the IFP Status of an IP

An In Forma Pauperis (IFP) status for an incapacitated person (IP) can be entered when the case is being entered into GTS, but the petition may also be entered later. Once the ruling is made, the IFP status should be added or updated on the case for the IP.

Adding or Updating the IFP Status

To add or update the IFP Status, perform the following:

1. 

Under Find a Case on your Dashboard, enter the case number and press ENTER. Optionally, if the case number is not readily available, click the Advanced Search link to locate the case. The GTS Case screen opens.

2. 

In the Person Info grid of the Incapacitated Person tab, select the appropriate IFP Status from the dropdown.

3. 

Click the Save icon Save icon in the row to save the change.
